Gaijin. Or more properly put,

外人.

I think the peeps who have seen the awfully-stupid show, 2 Fast 2 Furious, knows the meaning of this word.

bluntly putting it,

Gaijin means Foreigner.

Compared to you other peeps studying overseas, I dont think that you feel really like a gaijin in wherever you are right now, be it aussie, US or the United Kingdom.

Why? Cause they all speak English.

Your classes are in English, your tutorials are in English, and the best thing is,
YOUR EXAMS ARE IN ENGLISH.

I'm not complaining or anything lar, but it's sometimes good to be a gaijin who is still new to the language.

Luckily for me, GOD has granted us a powerful tool to all gaijins around the world.(Of course except the people in english speaking countries, of course)

And that tool is...

Step 1
Whenever you start a new semester, the first and most important thing you MUST do is to go up to the teacher after class and say,

"Sensei, I dont really understand the language, so is this reference book okie for me to use?"
(reference book can be any type of book, just as long as it is in english)

This is just to let the teacher know that you're a gaijin, and the part with the reference book will make you look like you are really hard-working and very into the subject)

Step 2
Ever week after class, try and ask the teacher a few questions in their language. Be it a question you don't understand, or something you already know. Again, this is to make you look like you're a hardworking person.

Step 3
And whenever an exam is coming around the corner, go and see your teacher and say,

" Sensei, I was wondering whether you would allow me to answer the essay question in english, as it would be quite difficult for me to write in the language. If it is uncomfortable for you, I'll write it in the language then."
(highlighted area : very important part of the whole conversation.Seriously. By implying that he does not understand english, would hurt his ego, and eventually he WILL let you answer the essay question in english.)

Note : Use the same 3 steps, if your lecturer asks you to do a report or a presentation. =P

it's different.

Why?

first, I'm away from my family.
second, there won't be any public holidays for hari raya here.

but, in a way, its an experiance.
Somehow i kinda feel lucky, as there are a lot of muslims here to celebrate raya with me.
We even had a praying session in the morning.

Kinda felt like home actually.
just without the family and without the open house where
most of the guests are chinese.

- When you first reach back to wherever you study, go to the nearest electrical shop, and buy a Weighing machine. I'd like to recommend the analog type, not the digital one, as the digital ones don't give a consistent reading.

I'd love to be one actually.Been wanting to be one since i was a kid.It doesn't matter whether i was a hero who can fly or shoot fireballs, it doesn't matter if i was like Spider-man, Batman or Superman,It doesn't matter if i was wearing my underwear on the outside, or wear black leather costumes,I just wanted to be able to, one day, save the world from all EVIL.

It's one of my favourite songs, very nice to listen to.
It's called "Stay with me" by Amane Kaoru from the drama Taiyou no uta ( A song to the sun).

Actually, the one i uploaded was not the original song, but the acoustic version.
honestly i kinda of like the acoustic version better.

This song was actually sung by Erika Sawajiri who acted as the main actress in the drama series.

Trust me, she is damn hot. haha

The drama is about a girl who has a dream of being a singer but her dreams were somehow dashed when she was diagnosed with a disease call XP. This disease is quite shitty actually, it prevents the person who has it from getting out under the sun. Meaning that whoever who has this disease can practically die of sunlight. But, shows are shows, so in the end, after she nearly accomplished her dream, she succumbed to the disease and died on stage.

Quite sad lar actually.

Ive got a really funny story today.

It just happened like 2 hours ago, and i cant wait to tell you guys.

So, it was like about 5.30 pm just now, and a few of us malaysians were playing table tennis.

While enjoying our table tennis,
suddenly,
out of no where, there was this japanese looking girl who came in and watched us play.
Honestly i could'nt recognize her.

After a few games, she picked up one of the extra table tennis bats lying around and signaled us that she wanted to play.

Thinking that she was a japanese, we spoke jap to her asking her whether or not its okie if we played together.

She just nodded her head.

so we, the malaysian students, who happen to know a language that no one else knows(BM),
we started to mock her in BM.

Now for the intermediate level,

If you meet someone for the first time, say :

If you are in a crowded area full of people, and you accidentally step on someone's foot,

Its a drama.

I heard about this drama for sometime now.
everybody who watched it says that its a good shit show.

Its Sad.

Its Inspiring.

I hate to admit it, but when a drama about a girl who is about to die can make a tough-mucho handsome guy like me cry like a baby,
its definitely sad.

Even my roomates and my senpais who came into my room while i was watching laughed so hard so much so that tears came out.

Anyways,
its about a girl, who i must say is very "chun" / KAWAAAAIII who happened to have a rare disease called spinocerebelar degenaration.
Its when her cerebellum, a part of the brain which controls movement, degenerates, thus becoming smaller and smaller, which after a few years,
made her unable to walk, talk, and eat by herself.
The drama shows us her fight against the disease, her will to live.

but in the end,
like all real life based dramas,
the girl dies.

apparently,
she wrote had a diary where she wrote her feelings and emotions up to the day she could not write anymore.

There were a few parts in the show which were super-ultra sad.

Like all oh-shit-i-cant-wait-to-see-it movies,
it was a disappointment.

why?

Firstly, the plot sucks.
when you watch it, it gives you the feeling that the writer was damn lazy to write a good script, and just tried to fit bits and peices from nowhere.

Second, the acting sucks.
toby magguire cant act for nuts.

Third,
there is one scene in the movie kinda of made me think that spiderman is a faggot.
yeah, not your normal cool super hero.

when i was at home,

cause im kinda busy this few days.

so, anyways,
back with my tokyo story,

My trip to tokyo actually started off like this : -

since i am a student and lack of farking money rite,
i decided to take the MOONLIGHT EXPRESS,
which is the cheapest train ticket to tokyo.

haha.

its about half the price of a bullet train ticket man.
thats how cheap it is.
about 4000 yen.
thats about RM120.

For all cheap things, there are always a catch.

The train leaves at 00.47 and reaches tokyo at 5.42.
not in the evening, but in the farking morning.

Tokyo Station - 東京駅
a super bloody big station.
i think its as big as one utama.
and i am not joking.

So, like all japanese people and things and services,
when my train ticket says that it reaches at 5.42 am,
it reaches at 5.42 AM.

on the dot.
not a minute late.

so after having like a five hour train ride,
i decided to explore tokyo city.
but nooooo,
not even fifteen minutes after reaching tokyo,
i found myself lost.

very lost.

i wasnt lost in the city.
wasnt lost in the middle of no where,
no,
but of all places to get lost in,
i got lost inside the bloody train station.

Tokyo station is farking unbelievably huge i tell you.
i think its like as big as 1U.

yeah, that big.

so after like 25 minutes searching for exit no.7,
i finally found it.

i walked up the 3 flights of stairs,
and then ,

right in front of me,

The city of Tokyo, Japan.

I have only one word i can say about tokyo.
i mean, a few words.

A LOT OF PEOPLE.

in my 18 years of life on this planet,
i have never seen THAT many people at one place at a time.

i mean, its crazy.
Do you know that the amount of people living in tokyo is about the same as the amount people living in malaysia.

thats about 25 million people.

I think that,

My dad, is a teluk intan born melayu.

Was schooled in clifford , perak than moved into Royal Military College Sungai Besi.
Loves golf.
Used to smoke Benson and hedges.

there was once,
my dad was doing his usual after-dinner-cigarettes sessions.
So, i decided to company my oh-so-lonely-looking father outside in the garden.
As he is not allowed to smoke in the house.
Man of the house huh? konon la.
so,
i went up next to him and said,
"hey dad. What u doin?"
he looked at me.
and then took a puff.
then he looked at me again.
With a lit benson and hedges cigarrette in his right hand,
he said to me, and i quote,
"SaL, i dont want to see you smoking next time when you grow up. It is really bad for you."
He stopped.
He smiled.

times that we know symbolizes the change in our life.

First day of school.
puberty - first signs of growing up
being a teenager
turning 16
SPM
18th birthday.
Driving a car.
first kiss.
first girlfriend.
First love.

these are the things we go through that symbolizes our process of growing up in the world.

A process from being just a small cute infant to a grown responsible adult.

Fortunately for me, i have had the opportunity to go through all those, what i call "milestones-in-life"

But i had to go through one more thing, one thing i have worked very hard at, that is:

Geting into a university.

haha. I sound so smart ritE?

anyways, i had my entrance ceremony the other day, which was honestly quite boring.haha. but nonetheless it was a very good experiance.

Here in japan, every year,when the time comes for the new students to go into the university, every university will have an entrance ceremony , or in japanese, they call it , nyuugakushiki.

Apparently,it is really really hard for one to get in a university here. I mean the local people lar. Its like a very big thing for them.So every university, all around the four islands, will have a entrance ceremony.

To my surprise, it was actually very boring.

oops, sorry.

very very very very very boring.

haha.

ill tell you in a momant why the nyuugaku shiki was an extreme bore.

The ceremony was very formal, so i put on my very best suit ( actually, its my ONLY suit).

During the whole ceremony, they had a few performances, by the university band (*yawn*) and very long speaches by the head of staff,

which was in full japanese.

haha. i didnt understand shit.

only, arigatou gozaimasu. which means thank you.

So after the speaches, they would like call every single new students name.And we had to stand up, and shout HAIH!

yeah, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.

which was about 300 of us.

Fuck, i told you it was boring. hahaha.

plus, the fella mentioned my named wrongly. Luckily for me, i only heard him mention fuad. so, i gave my best and loudest HAIH!

and plus, among 300 of us first year degree students, there were only like a handful of girls.

fuck man. Only a handful.

but luckily for me, there is one in my class. haha.

mind you, quite chun also.

Hanami 花見

hanami.

it litterally means flower watching.

i have seen pictures of japanese doing the "hanami" and all.

But i had to see it for myself.

apparently, it is kinda of a custom for the people to go and watch the sakuras,

before they "menguggur".

They will just sit under the tree,

and do nothin but

eat,

drink,

chat,

eat,

drink,

chat.

yes,

thats what they do.

sounds boring aint it?

thats what i thought also

but i must say this.

The sakura trees are beautiful.

especially when they are in full-bloom.

In some areas they are like pinkish and all,

but in some their more whitish, so to speak.

so, in order to go with the hanami spirit,

my senpai's planned to go for "hanami-ing" yesterday.

we had it at some park called "apita kouen" （あぴた公園）

The night before the thing,

we had to prepare loads and loads of chicken for the bbq.

haha.

so, i finally cut my very first chicken,

ALL BY MYSELF.

yes, yes.

i am spoilt.

I have never cut my own chicken before. haha

anyways, back with my story..

So we had our malaysian students hanami session at the park la.

it was quite fun actually.

I finally got to see some seriously hot jap chiqs there too man.
